Name Change

To all my adoring fans (which at this point are few) :) -- I've had to correct the spelling in my blogger title. My sister pointed out that I had misspelled Tiddlywinks. I had Tiddlewinks and she ever so gently corrected me. BUT -- I would like to point out to you sister dear that the game of Tiddlywinks began in Victorian England as "Tiddledy-winks" and so I was partially correct (in my mind anyway). So I have corrected my mistake and for those of you who know nothing about the game (like me), did you know that the English Tiddlywinks Association was founded in 1958? I didn't know this either. Very interesting.

Also, for those of you who don't know the game: Tiddlywinks is an indoor game played with sets of small, thin discs called "winks" lying on a surface, usually a flat mat. Players use a larger disc called a "squidger" to pop a wink into flight by pressing down on one side of the wink. The objective of the game is to cause the winks to land either on top of opponents' winks, or ultimately inside a pot or cup.

So now you know what the object of the game is. I recall playing this as a kid, but I guess my kid days are over and I have to be a responsible adult now. I wonder if you can still buy this game?

Anyway, this has been a brief but informative lesson on Tiddlywinks. I hope you all enjoyed it!

I always giggle when Dad says, "I'm just playing tiddlywinks with manhole covers." like you posted earlier. Just another one of his famous Dad-isms.

Thanks for the history lesson. Now post something a little less bland, please? *yawn*

You have such an exciting life with your four (or five) babies. Let's hear about how you are getting Lola to sleep through the night in her crib. Lord knows I need some of that! ;)

AAhhhh yes, my baby going to sleep in her crib. YUP -- she's been sleeping now since 8:30 -- I probably won't hear from her until 2 a.m. if I'm lucky. All I'll need to do is sit next to her crib and let her know I'm there and in 5 minutes she's back to sleep. You should try this Jules -- oh that's right, you still sleep with your baby.

Give the kid some room already -- better yet give the kid A room (which isn't yours and D's).

Let's see it's 10:30 at night and "where is your child?" Mine is sleeping BY HERSELF!! :)

If you'd like to borrow my book on "How to get your baby to sleep" just let me know as I don't think I need it anymore.

Have a great sleepless night!

I still sleep with my "baby". Well, we got her to go to bed at bedtime in her own bed but she still creeps in at some point. I don't mind, by 5 they all drifted in to their own beds full time.
