Fair Goers

So today we went to the Minnesota State Fair. We (my husband and I) left the kids with grandma and grandpa (they came to our house) and we went to the fair. Left at 9:30 a.m. and didn't get home until 6:30 p.m. That's the longest I've been away from our 1 year old and it seems that she did fine without me. She didn't nap very well for grandma but as long as I wasn't around she handled it quite nicely. The fair was a zoo -- sooooo many people. The food lines were long at a lot of places, the food was expensive, but Sweet Martha's cookies were great, as was the chocolate covered nut roll. YUUUMMMMMYYYYY!!! Now as we were walking through the fair, I couldn't help but notice kids, babies, and people in general. I just gotta say that I saw more babies who were dressed way too warm for the day, that is, pants and long sleeve shirts on an 82 degree day. I don't know what the parents were thinking, but I wanted to reach out and shake some of them and get them to notice their flushed, dehydrated kids. I also noticed a lot of "little" babies, like 2 weeks old. I don't know what those parents were thinking, as those babies were warm and flushed also. I just don't get it. Anyway, I think the fair is a place for kids, but not tiny little babies. Lots of stuff for the kids to see, especially the Miracle of Birth center. I waited around for a cow to give birth, but come to find out on the news tonight, she birthed her bull calf at 7:45 p.m. We were long gone by then -- too bad! With the crowd today, I'm glad we didn't have the stroller to worry about and/or trying to keep track of the kids walking around. There were just way too many people.

That's enough people for one day. I'm glad we live in the country and have a little privacy and seclusion.

It's good to be home!

Welcome to the world of blogging!!
Samantha just asked me if we were going to the fair and after reading your post I don't think we will. I hate big crowds of people too.

By the way, isn't tiddlywinks spelled with a "y"? Now you'll have to go back and change everything!! teeheehee

Have a nice day!

Welcome Ka-KA! which reminds me- your profile is hilarious. Don't let Jules pushe you around- it's simple to change the name. :)

Hi Gina,

Jules is my younger sister and she knows her place in the family heirarchy. She'll get eaten for breakfast if she's not careful. :) Right Jules?

The next chance I get I'm going to check out your blog and see what we have in common. Unlike Jules, I may make a friend this year. :)

Thanks for your comments!
